Art Is For Everyone
Art is for Everyone is a program that gives low-income children in DuPage and Cook Counties access to the demonstrated academic and cultural benefits of exposure to the arts. This program provides free transportation to and from the museum, exhibition visits, programming that engages students in learning opportunities, including art creation and appreciation, and free one-year renewable membership for the families of each participating student.
For many schools, particularly those in Illinois districts that have been adversely impacted by state budget cuts, the cost of transportation is the single largest hurdle in providing for students what may be their first visit to a museum. The Driskill Foundation was able to provide funding to eliminate this substantial barrier to allow participation in “Art is For Everyone.”
