Shore Community Services
Shore Community Services is one of several organizations serving and supporting individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities located in the North Shore Suburbs of Chicago. Their mission is to improve the quality of life for persons with intellectual and other developmental disabilities through educational, residential, vocational, and related programs provided with community integrated supports and services. Helping children and adults reach their full potential and, thus, lead them to more independent and productive lives.
The Driskill Foundation’s support went directly to enhance the enrichment activities for Shore Community Services’ clients at the Lois Lloyd Center. The primary focus of the enrichment program is to utilize music, and art therapy as well as increase community integrated activities that broaden their client’s appreciation for the arts and cultures. Shore will be putting together small group outings of 4-5 individuals who will attend museums like The Institute of Puerto Rican Arts and Culture, The Holocaust Museum, Halim Time, and Glass Museum as pictured along with other points of interest.
